For the past 22 years the communities of Castaic and Val Verde have enjoyed a unique and wonderful holiday tradition that other parts of our valley can only imagine. The Castaic Lions Santa Float has warmed hearts, brightened smiles and spread the spirit of the holiday. Neighbors have come together to share in the spectacle and magic of seeing Santa atop his sleigh. Children young and old have shared with Santa what they have on their “Wish Lists” and we have heard for years how the Santa Float is part of neighborhood and family holiday traditions.
This holiday event started out as an idea by local businessman and Castaic Lion, Jeff Preach, with a home-made modification of a boat trailer in 1989. Over the years it has been magically transformed in to the rooftop path children take to visit Santa and his faithful reindeer. This year is truly a special year – the 22nd Year of the Castaic Lions Santa Float. Santa will begin his travels on December 5, 2009 and then every evening through December 15th.
Through the years financial support has been provided by local businesses and as you can see, Santa is looking at his list and hoping your name will be on it for supporting his travels this year. We welcome any donation amount and have provided suggested donation levels below.
Spreading cheer and collecting food donations from every community in Castaic is the tradition of the Santa Float. We welcome you to be part of this very special tradition as we, as community, celebrate the 22nd Year of the Castaic Lions Santa Float!
